First-Time Admission Student
Students that plan to earn a degree or certificate, and enroll in more than seven credits in a semester need to submit an application of admittance along with a one-time non-refundable application fee.

Returning Student
Students that have attended at least one semester at UM-Helena as a degree-seeking student must reapply for admissions if they have been absent for more than one semester. No application fee is required.

Transfer Student
Students transferring from a Montana College/University
Students that are transferring credits can either submit an application(see First-Time Admission Student application) or can print out the Single admission file application and submit it with a $8 fee to the registrar’s office of the school they have previously attended.

Students Transferring from an out-of-state College/University
Students that are transferring credits need to submit an application
(see First-Time Admission Student application).

Non-Degree Student
Students that are not seeking a degree, do not seek financial aid, who will enroll in less than 7 credits in a semester need to submit an non-degree application at the admission office at the time of registration along with a $30 one-time non-refundable application fee. If a course you are interested in has pre-requisites please contact the admissions office before submitting your application.

On Campus Experience
Current High School students wishing to earn college credits need to submit an On Campus Experience application at the admissions office at the time of registration.
