Off-campus Library Services

The majority of our resources and services are available to you online 24/7. You can access these from the menu on the left and from the “Library” link in your Moodle classroom at the top of the homepage and under “HC Online Resources.”

Use your NetID (hc . . .) to log into our databases of journal articles, encyclopedias and other online reference materials.  You also use your NetID to log into Moodle, where you will find our self-paced Library Research Tutorial.  Check the Tutorials page on the library website for more helpful tutorials.

Use your student id (77 . . .) to log into the library catalog. In the catalog, you can renew materials you have checked out, and place holds on materials available in HC libraries and affiliate libraries (UM-Missoula, UM-Western and Montana Tech).  Holds can be picked up on either the Donaldson or Airport campus or mailed to your home upon request. Books and other materials are checked out for four weeks with two possible renewals.

The items listed under “Research Help” in the menu on the left will lead you to resources that will help you with your studies and research assignments for your classes.

Online forms are available for Book a Librarian, Suggest a Purchase and Interlibrary Loan.

Book a Librarian is for one-on-one research help in the library only, but we are happy to provide reference and research help by email, chat or telephone during open hours.  Leave an email message at any time and we will respond by the next business day, Monday through Friday.

Go to our In the Libraries page for an overview of resources and services available on campus.
