Transportation Career Clusters

Numerous jobs are available to graduates in Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, and Aviation Maintenance.  Many high schools offer Automotive programs, some with dual credit possibilities, and although the starting wage for automotive technicians may appear low, good technicians are quickly promoted to higher wages.  These skills can also provide a foundation for working on diesel engines and aircraft.  Diesel mechanics who possess CDL certification can test drive the big rigs they repair, and even without the mechanics training, drivers are in high demand.
