Satisfactory Academic Progress

(SAP)

Students receiving financial aid at UM-Helena have a legal responsibility to maintain:

1.       Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) – (Brochures are available in the Financial Aid office);

2.       and be enrolled in a degree seeking program.

If suspended from Financial Aid, a student can submit a Financial Aid Appeals form, available in the Financial Aid Office. Students who are reinstated on FA appeals are subject to a semester on FA probation until they once again are making Satisfactory Academic Policy.

Students who change programs must notify the FA office once program changes have been made; changes must be made in the registrar's office.

Academic policy requirements are separate from this financial aid policy, see Academic Policy.
